Liar, Liar!

I saw this image today and could not help but stop scrolling. Satan is, according to Jesus, “the father of all lies.” His goal is domination thru division; of families, friends, cities, towns and countries. Ultimately he wants to separate you from God who loves and adores you. Revelation 12:10 calls him the …accuser of the brethren who accused them before God day and night. Think about that -day and night he accuses. To accuse means to charge with a fault or an offense. Because he was cast to earth with his minions he now accuses day and night here.

His methods are not new… he will temp you, he will plant thoughts in your head, and he will lie to you about how God sees you. He will twist good and make it evil. He will temp you to think people who love you want to hurt you. He will cause you to accuse others and then he will sit back and laugh, and beat you down with guilt as relationships are destoryed because of his lies. The Bible warns us the last days before Christ returns for the church will be marked by great division. Mankind will turn on each other -lawlessness will abound and the love of many will grow cold.

So what do we do? How do we fight evil and WIN? Now that we are aware of his schemes we need to fight him!

First, we need to weigh our thoughts. We don’t have to just think whatever pops into our head. We have power to cast down imaginations! Examine your thoughts. Are they evil? Are they accusatory? That is the enemy whispering in your ear!

Next we recognize that is how the enemy works – he is attacking us and we take that thought captive and drag to the cross.

Third – We seek truth! What does the Bible say? What do you know is true of yourself or the other person?

Fourth -We act! We read our Bible and renew our mind. We communicate with each other. We beat him at his game by talking to others, choosing love over hate, truth over accusation, forgiveness over anger, togetherness over division.

Finally, we ask the Holy Spirit to reveal the lies we believe and set us free from the. We ask Jesus to bind us tightly together in love, protecting our relationships with a hedge of fire and ring of thorns. We lean in. We hang on. We choose love. We seek truth. And we work hard to fight the good fight of faith.

Hanging on tightly!
